We were in Marion looking for a place to eat. Stumbled on this from Google. The food is really good diner style lunch. We had a chicken wrap, reuben, cheese burger, and pork tenderloin. All the food was good quality. They have crinkle cut fries, and hand battered onion rings. Of course we had to try the macaroni salad and the cole slaw, both were good too and homemade. This place was a treasure in a strip mall setting. Looks very fancy inside and the staff was very attentive and nice. The hours of operation are 11 to 3 Monday thru Friday. Now last but not least the pie at this place is what they are famous for. The crust is so flakey and AMAZING. We had coconut cream pie, cherry pie, and blackberry cherry pie. All AMAZING!!!!! I'll go back just for pie. Lol. Enjoy this gem all.

Great independent restaurant. The food is excellent. Their pasta salad is the best I have ever tasted. I can't get enough of it. There are always great lunch specials. Multiple homemade pies are made fresh every day. SO GOOD! Do yourself a favor and have lunch here. I do every time I'm in the area. It's 3 hours from home, so I don't get the treat as often as I would like.

If you want made from scratch homemade comfort food, Carlyle's is your place. I had swiss steak and mashed potatoes and butterscotch meringue pie! Oh my goodness it was all so tasty!!!!! Carlyle's is only open from 11am to 3pm Monday through Friday and the place was packed! I highly recommend dining here if you get a chance.

If you're looking for outstanding food that tastes like it came straight out of your mom's kitchen, pull over--because Carlyle's Restaurant is the real deal. Once again, the food was absolutely awesome. Everything comes out of the kitchen hot, fresh, and packed with flavor, the kind that makes you pause mid-bite and look around like, "How is this so good?" Tracy and his staff clearly aren't guessing their way through these dishes--this is food built on family recipes, experience, and years of knowing exactly what works. And yes... once again, we ordered the Blooming Onion as an appetizer--because not ordering it would feel irresponsible. Cleverly cut, lightly battered, and cooked just right, those onion wedges pull apart effortlessly and are downright heavenly. Crispy without being greasy, flavorful without being heavy--it's the kind of appetizer that disappears faster than planned. The building itself isn't flashy, and the decor won't distract you--but that's part of the charm. It's clean, cozy, and comfortable, and once the food hits the table, nothing else matters anyway. One bite in, and you'll swear someone's mom (maybe yours) snuck into the kitchen to help out. Bottom line: You need to visit this place. Carlyle's proves--again and again--that great food doesn't need fancy surroundings, just heart, skill, and people who know what they're doing.

When you walk into a diner and it looks like a large living room with tables, you know you've found a good place. Carlyle's is such a place. There was a small wait as it was a Friday, and it was obvious that it was a popular local place. But I was sat quickly, and had already known what I wanted beforehand so ordered the Reuben. It came out quickly, and came with a side of fries. The fries were just about perfect; crispy but not hard, and seasoned but not overly salty. The Reuben was amazing. Everything about it was great, and the dressing was on the side so I could add as much as I wanted. I also got the Kentucky Derby pie, which the waitress described as "Chocolate pecan with chocolate chips" and I was instantly sold. Quite honestly probably one of the best pies I have ever had. I will definitely be returning.

UPDATE: How is it possible that the food gets even better and better? I have favorites but then I see specials for the day on their Facebook page and so I try something new and then WOWEEE! I have yet another favorite! It's a wonderful I'm not too terribly overweight because after I've enjoyed this delicious food, my thoughts return to Carlyles and I tell my honey, "I'll treat you to lunch! We both know where we want to go---Caryle's! *********** Friendly staff. Owner came out of the kitchen and welcomed his clientele. He has a great gift, a real magnetism with people and his cooking is magnificent. I only wish they would stay open longer than 3:00 p.m. due to day shifters not being able to have the experience. Extra delicious food. They have the BLOOMING ONION! I've missed it. You always had to drive out of town for it! So delicious! -All tables, no booths. -Daily specials listed on their Facebook as well as posted in the restaurant. -Carryout is available. -Clean. Pleasant aromas wafting. -Buzzing of people talking but keep in mind, this is in a former "Lawsons" convenience store so it is not small but also not large. -Parking lot is always full; indicative of clients flocking to Caryle's. -Not open on weekends. -Closes at 3:00 p.m. M-F. -I absolutely cannot wait to return!
